I was given the contents of an apartment that until recently had belonged to a fashion photographer working for Yves Saint Laurent.

The builder who was renovating the apartment gave the contents of the apartment to me. I dumped it on a central street in Paris and took photographs as people gleaned and sifted.

After three days everything was gone.
